So much for "we are all New Yorkers."

As Congress attempts to finish an extensive spending bill for road, highway and mass transportation projects around the nation, New York finds itself in a bleakly familiar spot: on the sidelines.

On Thursday, the House took up a spending package that would give the city and state hundreds of millions of dollars less in transportation aid than some New York officials had been counting on.

I guess when you're too busy funding two illegal occupations and training soldiers in the phillipines, colombia, and god knows where else, it's kind of hard to live up to all those promises they made about rebuilding and revitalizing our city.

I want to go home.
