Phoebe responds to my response to her response:

Yes.

I think Phoebe's answer points at the need to tackle white privilege, just as her original post on adams' article pointed at the ways in which language is a site at which that privilege is policed and contested. I think there are forms of solidarity and ways to deconstruct white privilege which don't amount to "slumming." I'm not much of a prescriptive revolutionary, so i'm not going to lay out a praxis that everyone should follow, but i think antiracist organizing needs to critcally examine white privilege and the hsitorical and social constructions of whiteness while also combatting the very real impacts that white racism has on atomizing, coopting, and otherwise fucking up social movements. Yeah, i know i'm not making sense, or being redundant or pedantic or something. I need to write my fucking essay.
