GSEU is turning up the heat at Columbia:
The graduate students at the meeting on Friday morning seemed determined to
form a union because they feel it is the only way they will be able to
bargain effectively with the University. "After a certain time, if the
University doesn't respond, we'll take it from there. But we will get a
union here. We are ready for a union," Ryan said.

And here's yet another YDN article on sections which - surprise - quotes no one who actually teaches sections. Whether this is the YDN's fault - or Yale's, for not allowing section teachers to speak at this event, or, most likely, of both the administration and its pet newspaper, this absence speaks more directly than anything in the article itself to Yale's anxieties about representing the casualization and corporatization of its own classrooms and this instability at which the new face of Levin's "globalization of the university" becomes visible.
