On February 18, 2004 the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), through an Administrative Law Judge, found Duane Reade liable for unfair labor practices. The NLRB charged the drug store chain for failing to apply accrued sick leave in accord with the contract, and failing to remit the Union dues the company deducted from the employees'paychecks, unilaterally ceasing to pay benefit fund contributions from August 31, 2001 forward, failing to provide wage information to the Union, and for declaring two unlawful impasses in collective bargaining negotiations.
Union members vowed to rally outside City Hall - ``with or without a permit'' - the morning of March 23, and picket outside schools if classes are held, Stutman said.
