The Cali grocery strike continues, with support from California's AG and the Mayor of Los Angeles. Pressure on the CEO of Safeway to step down is increasing.

The backlash against Burd turned personal this past week when about 250 people marched to his estate in Alamo, an exclusive Bay Area suburb, urging Burd to resume negotiations with a more compassionate approach.

Burd sits on a private sector subcommittee of the Homeland Security Advisory Council.

Michael Denning said in September that Yale's 13th strike was the "first great labor struggl;e of the 21st century." The second is unfolding at this moment in Southern California, and we need to take action to make sure that people like Steve Burd do not win it.
