Yale Won't Pay
The university
continues to refuse to foot the over $100,000 in NHPD overtime for which the city billed it in september. I've
already discussed the implications of the stance of the Register, which Tom Conroy has now adopted. By provoking the strike and then requiring the policing of worker actions, Yale has deepned the city's fiscal crisis. You'd think the least they could do was cough up a fraction of what they make off their endowment in a day so New Haven's streets stay "safe." (I'm not endorsing the NHPD or any cops in any way, shape, or form.)
