Lindy Gold strikes again. The washed-up lame duck Ward 26 alder, who lost her election as a several-term incumbent because she was too arrogant to actually talk to voters, a week after claiming in the herald to have been "targeted by the unions," and alleging to the YDN that Project Orange has become a "Ben Healey re-election" conspiracy, has now written a letter to the New Haven Register which asserts that DeStefano favors some unions above others, as evinced by his treatment of the hospital constables. Gold's argument doesn't make any sense. She's grasping for attention to compensate for her rapidly vanishing political career. But wait, let's depsychologize for a moment and actually look at the claims that Gold is making, and whence they might have originated. (I just said "whence!" Take that, Lindy Gold!) If the surrounding neighborhoods are "suffering" (this was the propaganda that ONHSA had Hazelann Woodell recite for the benefit of the (Yale-)New Haven Register last fall,) if the city is 'overburdened' this has far more to do with Yale's greed, its neocolonial development agenda, and with the refusal of hospital administrators to sit down with the mayor and reach a fair compromise (since they had clearly proved that they could not be trusted with their own police force) than with anything DeStefano has or as not done. Gold's harping is that of a puppet whose strings have been laid bare, and from whom the very stage has been yanked away.  ¶ 12:58 PM
